So after the demise of my external hard drive I paid for Mozy Backup and been waiting for it to complete its first backup. It estimated there was 20GB of files to backup so I expect it to take a few days to encrypt and transfer that amount.
However, the one thing I didn’t expect was it to consume so much memory — v184.108.40.206 of the MozyHome Remote Backup software has currently consumed 1,071,292K of my memory, according to Task Manager. If it keeps on growing I’m going to have to kill it before it completely frustrates the hell out of me.
My 320GB external hard drive has died … RIP
A few years ago my laptop hard drive failed and then my external hard drive failed two weeks later which had my backup. I ended up losing everything and paying a data recovery company a few hundred pounds to recover the files. Ever since then I’ve been a bit anal about my backup process.
